Can you describe your professional background and what brought you to PWM?
I have gone “a mile wide and an inch deep” across multiple areas in my professional background. In my first professional role, I worked in tax and forensic accounting. I also spent time in institutional asset management and had a stint selling insurance. Now having my CFP®, I have partnered with wealth advisors to help them understand and implement complex strategies for their high net worth clients.
Having the chance to be part of a truly cohesive team, as well as the opportunity to work directly with clients is what brought me to PWM. There is a family feel that stretches across our team, which feeds directly into our relationships with clients.
What is your role and what do you do at PWM? What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your role?
As a Wealth Manager Assistant, I support the advisors who work directly with our clients to develop personalized financial plans and portfolios.
I have been told that I can make the complex sound simple. Coaching and educating have always been passions, and I know how it feels when a complex topic finally clicks. I love delivering that same moment of clarity to our clients.
What is one of your greatest professional accomplishments?
I am most proud of passing the CPA and CFP® exams. The discipline that is needed to pass these exams has made me a better person and advisor. Throughout the process, I was able to learn a lot about myself.
How do you like to spend your time outside of PWM?
My wife, Natalie, and I have two children: Vera (22 months old) and William (1-month-old), so the majority of our time is spent chasing them around! We are blessed and love our little family.
Our typical weekends involve getting the kids outside to play and see the world. We also spend as much time as we can with our families, located here, in St. Louis, and Farmington, MO.
As my wife would say, I am a nerd. While I enjoy watching sports and exercising; however, it’s not uncommon to find me building out an Excel model to help make my fantasy football process more efficient.
How would you describe your personality?
I am energetic and outgoing, while also having an introverted and thoughtful side (it’s the “only-child” side of me, as some may call it).
What is a fun, interesting fact about yourself?
I have been in Busch Stadium, in person, for both of the past 2 World Series-clinching Cardinal wins.
If you could pick up any skill, what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to play the piano or the guitar. I love music, and getting a song or melody from my mind to the instrument would be amazing.
